Pharmalogical Actions

  • Immunomodulatory Activity: has been reported by several researchers.[i]
  • Hepatoprotective and Anti-oxidant Activity: have shown significant clinical and hemato-biochemical improvement in CCl4 induced hepatopathy. Extract of cordifolia has also exhibited in vitro inactivating property against Hepatitis B and E surface antigen [ii]
  • Anti-osteoporotic Activity: The extract stimulates the growth of osteoblasts, increased the differentiation of cells, increases the cell numbers into osteoblastic lineage and increased the mineralization of bone like matrix on the osteoblast model systems.[iii]
  • Anti-diabetic Activity: shows hypoglycaemic and hypolipidaemic actions in the alloxan induced diabetic rats. [iv]
  • Anti-obesity and Hypolipidemic: Tinospora Cordifolia demonstrates potential in managing overweight, general obesity, and obesity associated with diabetes by regulating lipid metabolism and promoting weight loss. It helps in reducing hyperlipidemia, thereby mitigating the risk factors associated with obesity-related complications[v]
  • Regulation of Menstrual Health: Tinospora Cordifolia may help in managing menstrual irregularities, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), mastalgia, and promoting hair health. Its adaptogenic and hormone-regulating properties contribute to maintaining menstrual health and alleviating associated symptoms[vi].
