Pharmalogical Actions

  • Hypolipidemic: Sunthi may help lower lipid levels in the blood, contributing to its hypolipidemic effect[i].
  • Antiemetic: It has antiemetic properties, meaning it can help reduce nausea and vomiting[ii].
  • Anti-ulcerogenic: Sunthi’s gastroprotective properties can help prevent the formation of ulcers in the stomach and intestines.[iii]
  • Rheumatoid arthritis: Sunthi exhibits anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce inflammation and alleviate symptoms associated with rheumatoid arthritis[iv].
  • Cough of varied etiology :Sore throat, Irritation in throat, Pharyngitis, Cough of any origin, Smoker’s cough, Sunthi possesses expectorant and antitussive properties, making it effective in relieving coughs of various origins, including sore throat, irritation, pharyngitis, and smoker’s cough[v].
  • Bronchial asthma, Chronic bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Sunthi’s anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator effects can help manage symptoms associated with bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, and COPD[vi].
